The region's first dedicated MetroRail event
The first dedicated MetroRail event in the Southern Hemisphere brings together leading Asian & Global MetroRail executives with Australian MetroRail visionaries and project stakeholders

The conference

Driven by increasing population, urban densities, road congestion in capital cities and skyrocketing fuel prices, rail patronage figures alone reveal a clear and present urgency for examining, developing and enhancing metropolitan rail:

  • In South-East Queensland patronage increased 50% in the seven years to 2005/06
  • Rail patronage in Melbourne increased 23% in the past two years
  • Rail patronage in Perth grew by 41% in the year to March 2008, reflecting the opening of the New Metro Rail line to Mandurah.
These spikes in patronage, however, only highlight years of chronic underfunding and underinvestment in metropolitan rail networks and the lack of a clear long term plan.

The time to address Australia’s metro rail future is now.

MetroRail Australia is the only event in the region where global transport visionaries, Government leaders, transport operators and infrastructure developers come together to discuss policy, strategy and funding for future Metrorail projects in Australia.
