Safety culture is fundamental in the mining industry. Yet it can sometimes be overshadowed by production demands. As the global demands for commodities rises, and the skills shortage increases, the safety of every employee on every mine site in Australia is being compromised. To combat this it is vital that safety is at the forefront of every employee’s mind, ever y mi nute of every day.
This can be achieved in three ways: 1. By understanding, implementing and communicating new safety legislation; 2. By creating and applying successful safety management plans and methods; and 3. By developing effective safety training methods for new and existing employees.
IQPC’s Safety in Mining 2008 event will focus on these objectives and will provide you with insight from government regulators, case studies from mine sites around Australia, as well as presentations from safety experts in the mining industry.
