An invitation to be a part of pharmacy history. This Congress marks the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the first formal organisation representing pharmacists in Australia, the Pharmaceutical Society of Victoria.
The evolution of the Society from its Victorian beginnings to an influential national association is an important event that warrants celebrating. So we are having a special 150th Birthday Party to celebrate the profession and its achievements.
It certainly gives us a strong reason to consider the future of pharmacy and the profession’s contribution to better health in Australia.
This year, the Pharmacy Australia Congress includes several new initiatives, such as:
The Health Industry Forum, an all-day event that will focus on the current shape of pharmacy and how pharmacy should evolve to better provide the services needed by the modern community. It will explore the relationships between pharmacists and consumers and how government policy impacts on the delivery of a healthy pharmacy service. A public forum on medication management for the elderly; and A session when pharmacists can present their current research into important areas of pharmacy practice. These initiatives, together with the traditional plenary sessions and business, hospital, consultancy, pharmacy staff and military streams and a revitalised trade exhibition, will all serve to show how Good Pharmacy does lead to Better Health.
We’ve put together a program that will enable you to share experiences and exchange ideas with friends and colleagues from across the world.
