5th Annual Public Private Partnerships in Healthcare Summit
19th & 20th March, 2009 Brisbane Marriott Hotel
Public Private Partnerships are becoming increasingly important in the provision of healthcare in Australia in terms of their value-for-money proposition and their viability in delivering effective social infrastructure.
The current economic and financial crisis means that availability of credit has seriously deteriorated. PPP contracts must therefore be watertight and sound investments in order to bring in the needed private investment.
A key aim of the 5th Annual Public Private Partnerships in Healthcare Summit on the 19th and 20th of March 2009 will be to help answer questions around raising this necessary investment. The summit will also assess the future viability of PPPs in funding and providing healthcare infrastructure and services.
The summit will discuss the latest developments and issues related to Public Private Partnerships in the healthcare sector and will include the following crunch issues:
PPP Viability:
The driving force behind all PPPs is access to private investment to fund these infrastructure projects. How will you respond to the challenges of funding much needed infrastructure projects for the healthcare sector?
Case Studies:
Australia currently has a range of PPP healthcare facilities currently under various stages of completion. This summit will be looking at those in the procurement phase, construction phase and operational phase. These case studies will also be covered on the basis of state, size and investment to cover the broad and varying range of PPP healthcare facilities to give you a clearer picture of what is currently happening in Australian projects.
Existing PPP Challenges:
Delegate will also learn more about the continually evolving issues facing PPPs in healthcare including contract management, output specifications, payment mechanisms, risk allocation and contractual issues.
This event will feature over 20 speakers including:
Roger Black, National Infrastructure Leader, Deloitte Brett Holmes, General Secretary, NSW Nurses’ Association Edward Clode, Large Projects Manager, Suters Architects Stuart Muirhead, Project Manager - Orange Hospital, Capital Insight Peter McCarthy, Director, Assetera
