The International Conference on e-Government (ICEG 2008) invites researchers, practitioners and academics to present their research findings, work in progress and conceptual advances in any branch of e-Government. The conference provides an opportunity for people with like-minded and different perspectives to come together to gain an understanding of real-world e-government issues and to discuss ways to put research into practice. To achieve this goal, we are inviting researchers and practitioners from around the world to submit their research findings and new ideas, and for practitioners to demonstrate actual products and applications. Please read the Call for Papers and Demonstrations for further details. Abstract submissions and demonstration proposals are due on 8 May, 2008.
In its 4th year, the 2008 conference is being held at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. RMIT University is one of Australia’s leading educational institutions, with a commitment to applied education, training and research. Since its establishment in 1887, RMIT has built a worldwide reputation for excellence in vocational and technical education, as well as in research and specialist programs. RMIT is a university that fosters connections between education and industry, and between individual ambition and opportunity. As a founding member of the Australian Technology Network (ATN), RMIT shares a heritage of working with industry and has a united vision to provide career-driven education for tomorrow’s leaders, and for people who have an interest in and a commitment to contributing to the economic, cultural and social future of their communities.
Melbourne has a lot to offer the visitors. RMIT University’s main city campus is located in the heart of the Central Business District of Melbourne. RMIT buildings can be found woven through the fabric of the city from Bourke Street at the southern end to Carlton Street in the North. You can walk from the campus to shops of every description, as well as to cafes and restaurants to suit every taste and budget, and to cultural institutions including galleries, museums and exhibition centres.
We look forward to welcoming you to the conference, which provides the opportunity for academics, researchers and practitioners from all countries to get together, to network and exchange ideas on this fast evolving e-service, the e-Government.
