Melbourne Water and Firestarter are pleased to present the 2008 Melbourne Water River Health Youth Conference, a “kids teaching kids” event, to celebrate World Environment Day (4th and 5th June) - this year to be held at Flemington Event Centre, Epsom Road Flemington.
Building on the success of our 2007 Yarra River Youth Conference, this exciting event will provide your students with the opportunity to present, share and discuss their vision and concerns for the health of our rivers and creeks.
The two-day conference involves students working with expert mentors leading up to the event to develop interactive, informative and fun 40-minute workshops for their peers. Other highlights include the environmental projects day engaging students in hands-on environmental activities, and the conference dinner.
EXCITING NEWS - as part of the 2008 Melbourne Water River Health Youth Conference 20 participating schools have the opportunity to win a raingarden as part of Melbourne Water’s $200,000 Raingardens in Schools program, each valued at $10,000. Upon registration, schools will be sent an entry form, with winners announced at the conference, on World Environment Day.
